Wanda “Neta” Knipe, of Durant, Okla., passed from this life on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at the age of 74. She was born on Saturday, April 12, 1947 in Durant, Okla., to Milton Lee and Francis Lorene (Zachry) Mitchell. 
She married Gene Knipe on March 19, 1971 in Durant, Okla. She was a longtime resident of Durant.
She enjoyed playing Yahtzee and Rummy. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and especially playing with her grandkids. She was a member of the Abundant Life Temple in Durant.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Lorene Mitchell; husband, Gene Knipe; son, Dennis Brown; sister, Joy Keithley; grandson, Kelly McDonald; granddaughter, Cali Guthrie and nephew, Donnie Taylor. 
Survivors include her sons: David Brown and wife Jean of Monticello, Minn., Craig Brown of Durant, Okla.; daughter, Debbie Brown of Durant, Okla.; step-son, Eldon Knipe of Irving, Texas; grandchildren: Brandon Brown, Cory Brown, Kinsly Mckinney, Kristen and Garrett Shoemake , Josh and Natalie Brown , Brittni and Brent Pickett, Brett Guthrie, Tanner Guthrie, Kali Guthrie; nieces and nephews: Sherry Glasscock, Steve and Tina Taylor, Neal Keithley, Shelly Keithley and 18 great-grandchildren.
A family hour will be held from 6-7 p.m., Monday, July 5, 2021 at Gordon Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at the Monterey Chapel, 224 S. Ninth Ave. in Durant with Bro. Johnnie Hutson officiating. A graveside service will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Durant, Okla.
Josh Brown, Brandon Brown, Cory Brown, Tanner Guthrie, Brett Guthrie, Garrett Shoemake and Ryder Martin will serve as pallbearers. Brent Pickett will be an honorary pallbearer.
