Wanda Arlene Hull, a resident of Durant, Okla., and a woman who dedicated her life to caring for her home and family passed from this earthly life on Saturday January 9, 2021 at the age of 66. She was born on June 9, 1954 to John Hooks and Winnie (Manning) Hooks.
Wanda married Hugh Michael Hull in Durant, Okla. on Sept. 5, 1972. She cherished the time she spent with her family. Wanda enjoyed the quiet solitude of fishing, but she especially looked forward to being outside working in her yard.
She also enjoyed spending time playing cards, games and the occasional game of corn hole. Wanda had a fun competitive nature when it came to games, something she passed on to all of her children. A caregiver at heart, Wanda was called “mom” to so many kids and grandkids besides her own and spent many years of her life taking care of others.
Mrs. Hull is survived by her son, Ray Hull and wife Bobbie of Greenville, N.C.; daughter, Rena Hull of Moscow Mills, Mo.; daughter, Tina Ticknor of Durant, Okla.; son, Jimmy Hull and wife Tara of Roberta, Okla.; son, Michael Mewszel and wife Robin of Roberta, Okla.; son, Mark Mewszel and wife Kim of Coleman, Okla.; Honorary Daughter, Cheryl Mitchell of Utica, Okla.; grandchildren: Shayla Hull, Tylor Hull and wife Ashlyn, Jakus Hull and wife Kacy, Steven Dudley, Courtney Starks and husband David, Michael Varner, Mariah Smith, Allayna Arlene Barrett, Frank Ticknor, Mario Ticknor, Chelsea Hull, Bailey Rae Hull, Robyn Schamp, Robbie Mewszel, Cody Mewszel, Casey Mewszel and Conner Mewszel; great-grandchildren: Lauralyn Hull and Annarae Hull, Serenity Hull, Thaddeus Hull and Tobias Hull, Nolan Dudley, Soren Dudley, Xander Starts, Xaia Starks, Xarie Starks and Xepplyn Starks, Layne Varner, Levi Varner, Savannah Varner, MacKenzie Varner, Remington Varner, Abagail Varner, Madelyn Craig, Connor Mclaughlin, Carter McLaughlin, Elizabeth Ticknor, Kinsley Clure, Paisley Clure, Kiera Schamp and Charlie Mewszel; brother, Cal Hooks and sister-in-law, Olivia Barton and her sons, Bryan Barton and Shane Barton.
Mrs. Hull was preceded in death by her parents, John and Winnie Hooks; husband, Hugh Michael Hull; special in-laws, Hugh and Hazel Hull; sister, June Ward and brother, Bobby Hooks.
Family hour will be from 6-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A celebration of her life will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021 at the Rosehill Cemetery in Calera, Okla. with Dr. Rogers Speers officiating.
Her pallbearers will be her beloved grandsons. The service will be available to view on the funeral home Facebook page at 2 p.m.
