Vincen Burns, a proud member of the Choctaw Nation and resident of Bokchito, Okla., departed from this world on April 22, 2022, at the age of 59. He was born in Durant, Okla., on May 2, 1962, to Wilburn Earl Burns and Anna Jane (Metcalf) Burns.

Vincen worked for Easters in Bokchito and Campbell Soup in Paris, Texas, for many years. He was an outstanding baseball pitcher and continued his playing days on the softball field for many years after graduation.

Mr. Burns is survived by his mother, Janie Burns of Bokchito, Okla.; brothers, Preston Burns and wife Cindy of Oklahoma City, Okla., Brent Burns of Bokchito, Okla.; step-mother, Chris Burns of Bokchito, Okla.; aunt, Shirley Henderson of Durant, Okla.; uncles, Ken Metcalf of Little Elm, Texas, Jerry Metcalf of Fort Worth, Texas, Billy Metcalf of Roggins, Colo.; nieces, Katelynn Burns and Bethany Burns of Oklahoma City, Okla., Maci Burns of Durant, Okla., and nephews Bronson Burns and Gunner Burns of Oklahoma City, Okla.

Mr. Burns was preceded in death by his father, Wilburn Burns; maternal grandparents, Chief and Betty Metcalf and paternal grandparents, Homer and Alma Burns.

A memorial service in honor of his life will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the First Baptist Church in Bokchito, Okla. with Bro. Preston Burns officiating.

Services are under the direction of Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home, 121 N. Fifth Ave. in Durant, Okla.
