BRYAN COUNTY – As of Sunday, May 17, the Oklahoma State Department of Health’s website, coronavirus.health.ok.gov, is showing promising numbers.

There is a discrepancy, however, in number of cases in Bryan County (on the ‘View Data by County’ page) and the collective number of cases in the individual cities of Bryan County (on the ‘View Data by City’ page). The Patriot will show both totals.

It also appears that there has been a delay in reporting in more than one instance, specifically with Achille, Bennington and Colbert.

From the County Data page, the site lists that Bryan County has 14 positive cases, with 12 recoveries* and one death.

From the City Data page, the site lists that the cities in Bryan County have a total of 15 positive cases, with 12 recoveries and one death. The breakdown is as follows:

DURANT | 7 positive cases (5 recoveries)
MEAD | 3 positive cases (2 recoveries, 1 death)
BENNINGTON | 2 positive cases (2 recoveries)
COLBERT | 2 positive cases (2 recoveries)
ACHILLE | 1 positive case (1 recovery)

The promising number is that both pages list Bryan County as having 11 recoveries, and only 1 or 2 active cases, as of this date.

* Recoveries are defined as those currently not hospitalized or deceased and 14 days after onset/report.
