BRYAN COUNTY – A head-on collision in Cartwright on Monday afternoon resulted in two people being taken to Texoma Medical Center in Denison.
Clifton Ahhaitty, 49 of Denison, Texas, was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado southbound on Oklahoma Highway 91 in Cartwright and slowing to make a left turn when a 2019 Buick Encore heading northbound and driven by Elizabeth Mayton, 22 of Sherman, Texas, went left of center, striking the Silverado head-on, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Ahhaitty was transported to Texoma Medical Center, where he was treated and released. Mayton was transported by Colbert EMS to Texoma Medical Center and admitted in stable condition with arm, leg, and trunk internal injuries.
Seatbelts were in use by both and the airbags deployed in both vehicles, according to the report.
The OHP was assisted in the investigation by the Colbert EMS and Cartwright Fire Department.
