Two flown by Air Evac from ATV accident outside Mead

BRYAN COUNTY – Three people were injured Saturday afternoon as a result of a collision outside of Mead.

A Yamaha Kodiak ATV driven by an 11-year-old from Cartwright was pulling a small trailer and traveling south on Timber Lane about 3 miles north and 1/10 mile west of Mead at about 4:40 p.m., according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The ATV departed the roadway to the left, then crossed over and departed the roadway to the right striking the back of a parked Ford F250.

The driver of the vehicle was transported by the Bryan County EMS to AllianceHealth Durant and admitted in stable condition with head injuries.

A passenger, David Hart, 76, of Woodward, Okla. was transported by Air Evac to Medical City Plano and admitted in stable condition with head and arm injuries.

Another passenger, a 14-year-old from Denison, was transported by Air Evac to Medical City Plano and admitted in critical condition with head injuries.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation. The OHP was assisted by the Bryan County EMS, Silo Fire Department, and Bryan County Sheriff’s Office.
