ATOKA COUNTY – Two 16-year-olds were injured as a result of a single-vehicle accident late Saturday night.
The names of both young men were withheld in the Oklahoma Highway Patrol report. The report described a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound on Forrest Hill Road at about 11:37 p.m.
The Silverado departed the roadway right, overcorrected, departed roadway left and overturned one and one-quarter times, coming to rest on passenger side.
The driver was transported by AirEvac to Med City Plano in Plano, Texas, with trunk internal injuries. The passenger was transported by Atoka EMS to Alliance Health in Durant, with a leg injury.
Seat belts were equipped but not in use, according to the report.
The OHP was assisted in the investigation by the Atoka County Sheriff’s Department, Choctaw Nation Tribal Police, Atoka County Fire Department and Atoka County EMS.
