Tressa Wood

Tressa Gallant Wood, 59, of Montclair, Calif, left this life for the next on Oct. 20, 2020, in the care of her family. Tressa was born on June 21, 1961 in San Bernardino, Calif., to Delbert and Kerry Gallant.

Tressa attended Chaffey High School in Ontario, Calif., and graduated third in her class at Seymour High in Missouri. She was saved and baptized in Diggins, Mo., at the age of 17. Tressa married Bruce T. Wood on April 24, 2000. They enjoyed a happy marriage of 20 years.

She worked in home repair, owning her own business, A Woman’s Work – “Just as handy as a man,” before leaving California. She came to Marshall County in the Spring of 2005 from Victorville, Calif. to retire on Lake Texoma and be close her grandchildren.

Tressa attended Victory Life Church in Durant, Okla., where she loved to worship in praise. Tressa enjoyed traveling, visiting many places in the US and overseas. She was always up for a good time and adventure, taking those she loved along for the ride. A true outgoing person, she had a giving heart and made friends wherever she went. She was a true blessing to all those who knew her and will be greatly missed by many friends and all family.

Tressa is preceded in death by her parents, Delbert R. Gallant and Kerry L. Ratkowski, foster parents, Lee and Helen Dennis, grandmother, Merrill Gallant, and sister Robin Ratkowski.

Tressa is survived by her husband, Bruce T. Wood of the home; daughter, Tiffany Whitehead and husband Bill of Kingston, Okla.; grandchildren: Tory, Tylee, Asher, Claire and Kayden of Marshall County. Okla.; sisters: Tina Northeim of Bermuda Dunes, Calif. and Jacquelyn Ratkowski of Folsom, Calif.; brothers: Don Ratkowski of Loomis, Calif, and Bobby Ratkowski and wife Danielle of Folsom, Calif.

The family has selected cremation, with services directed by Brown’s Funeral Service in Durant.
