DURANT – Southeastern Director of Athletics Keith Baxter has announced Alan Trayler has been named the new head coach of the storied Southeastern Oklahoma State University Baseball team.

He becomes just the third coach in the almost 30 years since SE joined the NCAA.
Trayler takes over for Zach Crabtree who guided the program for the past seven seasons.
“I’m so grateful for this opportunity to build upon the history and success of the Savage Storm baseball program,” Trayler said. “This is truly a dream job for me and my family, and I’m so thankful to President [Thomas] Newsom, Coach [Keith] Baxter, and the committee for believing in my vision to bring new energy to the Southeastern Baseball program. I’d also like to thank Coach Crabtree for his support, mentorship, and friendship the last seven years. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for Zach, and I am forever grateful to him and his family.”

Trayler joined the Southeastern coaching staff prior to the 2018 season and has served as the team’s hitting coach as well as recruiting coordinator for the past seven seasons.
Prior to coming to SE, he spent a season as the recruiting coordinator and worked with pitchers at Oklahoma Panhandle State.
Trayler spent two seasons as an assistant with Stephen F. Austin where he worked with recruiting and served as the team’s first base coach.
He would start his coaching career at Murray State where he spent the 2013 season as the hitting and infield coach as well as the team’s recruiting coordinator.
A native of Dumas, Texas, he graduated from Dumas High School in 2005 after a stellar two-sport career. As a senior at Dumas HS in 2005, he hit .561 with three home runs and 35 RBI. He was all-District 3-4A and team MVP in both 2004 and 2005 and earned honors for All-State in 2005.
Following high school, Trayler went on to have a stellar collegiate career as well. He spent time at Neosho County Community College where he was an all-conference shortstop hitting .323 with 16 doubles, 14 home runs, 52 RBI and 35 stolen bases. From there he went on to Oklahoma Baptist where continued his offensive production hitting .292 with 16 doubles, 15 home runs, 59 RBI and 15 stolen bases.
Trayler graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University in 2011 with a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies. In 2019, he graduated with his MS in Sports Administration from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
Alan and his wife, Theresa, reside in Durant with their son, McCoy, and daughter, Kinley.
