Tom Adams, 82, of Kingston, Okla. passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at the Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. He was born Dec. 21, 1936 in Kingston to the late R. L. Adams and Rosie Irene Gray Adams.
Tom was raised in Kingston where he graduated high school. He served in the United States Air Force for several years before owning and operating Adams Motor Co. in Lone Grove, Okla. He married Kenettia Ann McCage on April 4, 1991 in Gainesville, Texas.
Tom later owned and operated Adams Construction Co. before working for Marshall County as County Commissioner for three terms. He was a member of the Kingston Alumni Association and the Free Will Baptist Church.
Tom enjoyed dancing, coon hunting, golfing, fishing, rabbit hunting and playing dominoes and cards. His greatest love was spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Kenettia Ann Adams, Kingston, Okla.; children: Shawnettia Weaver and husband Mark, Durant, Okla., David Adams and wife Marleen, Whitesboro, Texas, Ronny Adams and wife Debbie, Whitesboro, Texas, Johnny Denney, Wynnewood, Okla., Critter Denney and wife Bethany Lone Grove, Okla.; 19 grandchildren: Peyton (Baby Girl) and husband Damian, Hailey, Shawn, Taylor, Skyar, Dylan, Kennedi, Gracie, Ethan, Caleb, Lucas, Wyatt, Rina, Derrick, Keyla, Jay Lynn, Donavon, Delton and Brandon; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers: Clifford Adams and wife Rhonda, Kingston, Okla., Carlos Adams and wife Lisa, Willis, Okla., Carl Dean Adams and wife Robbin, Dallas, Texas; sisters: Polley Stofel and husband Johnny, Durant, Okla., Pat Beaty and husband Ronny, Aubrey, Texas, Mary Cecil, Sulphur Springs, Texas, Willa Dean Minsor and husband Jack, Aurora, Colo.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, son; Donny Adams, sister; Christine Thomas and brother; Dexter (Jimbo) Adams.
Casket bearers are Mark Weaver, Jerimah Adams, Josh Adams, CR Pruett, Scotty Adams and Joey Adams with Honorary Bearer Monty Montgomery.
