Tishomingo woman killed in motorcycle accident

JOHNSTON COUNTY – One person is dead as a result of a motorcycle accident on Thursday evening.

Mesha Romero, 32, of Tishomingo, was a passenger on a 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Edward J. Williams, 46, of Tishomingo, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred at approximately 6:51 p.m. on State Highway 48A approximately 1 mile north of Milburn. Romero was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Williams was transported by Johnston County EMS to Alliance Health in Durant, and later transferred by EMS to Medical City Plano in Plano, Texas, where he was admitted in critical condition with trunk internal, trunk external, leg and head injuries. 

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

The OHP was assisted in the investigation by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, Milburn Fire Department and Johnston County EMS.
