Nor-Tex A/C and Refrigeration is set to help you get your home ready to stay warm during the winter months.

Lynn Smith, owner of Nor-Tex, said that the all homeowners to take the time to make sure the heating units are ready for the change in seasons.

“Most people don’t even think about the furnace,” Smith said. “They just want to flip a switch from winter to summer and expect it to work.”

Nor-Tex has a “Get Ready For Old Man Winter” special prepared for just that purpose.

“With your car, you carry it in every 3,000-5,000 miles to get the oil changed,” Smith said. “On an air conditioner, the furnace part of it has been sitting still all summer long. Going into winter now, if it’s a gas furnace, we need to check the burners and make sure there’s no spiders. I know you’ve seen those spider webs that get up in the carburetors and just stop it up. That can cause it to put off carbon monoxide.”

The Nor-Tex special can help you get ready.

This fall start-up special includes:

• Checking and servicing the pilot and service burner
• Lighting the pilot
• Checking the gas valve operation and vent pipe
• Checking the heat exchanger
• Checking the freon level and checking for carbon monoxide
• Checking the thermostat filter
• Winterizing the condenser
• Changing the filters

The Fall Start-Up Special is offered for $99.95. You can give the professionals at Nor-Tex a call at (580) 920-2400 and talk with Lynn or Becca, or visit them at 309 W. Arkansas St. in Durant.
