Three people killed in two-vehicle wreck east of Boswell

CHOCTAW COUNTY – Three people were killed in a multi-vehicle collision that took place on U.S. Highway 70 on Christmas night.

Fernando Rodriguez-Ramirez, 24, of Johnson City, Texas, was driving a 2007 Ford Pickup on Highway 70 approximately 1.4 miles east of Boswell at about 10:50 p.m., according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Max Sides, Sr., 63, of Coleman, was driving a 2020 Toyota Camry on Highway 70, at that time.

A collision occurred which is still under the investigation of the OHP.

Rodriguez-Ramirez was transported by the Choctaw County EMS and Bryan County EMS to Texoma Medical Center in Sherman, Texas, and admitted in critical condition with trunk and leg injuries. A passenger, Humberto Rodriguez-Ramirez, 32, of Johnson City, Texas, was transported by AirEvac to Plano Medical Center in Plano, Texas, and admitted in critical condition with back, trunk and leg injuries.

Max Sides, Sr., was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Choctaw County EMS.

Two passengers, Vicki Sides, 55, of Coleman, and Max Sides, Jr., of Coleman, were also pronounced deceased on the scene.

A third passenger, Kristina Mannor, 31 , from Leesville, La., was transported by Choctaw County EMS, then airlifted to Tulsa, Okla., where she was admitted in critical condition with head, trunk, and leg injuries.

Airbags were equipped and deployed in both vehicles, according to the report.

The OHP was assisted in the investigation by the Boswell Volunteer Fire Department, Soper Volunteer Fire Department, Hugo Fire Department, Choctaw County EMS, Choctaw County Sheriff’s Office, Hugo Police Department, Choctaw Nation Tribal Police Department, Lamar County Sheriff’s Office, AirEvac and MARC.
