CHOCTAW COUNTY – Three people from Boswell were injured in an accident on Highway 70 on Monday night.
Zachary Hill, 18, was driving a 2003 Honda Accord westbound on U.S. Highway 70 about a mile east of Soper a little after 9 p.m. on Monday, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Hill was passing a stopped vehicle and overcorrected. The vehicle departed roadway to the right and rolled unknown amount of times before coming to rest on its top. Hill and two passengers were ejected an unknown distance from the vehicle
Hill was transported by Air Evac to Texoma Medical Center in Denison, and admitted stable condition with head and trunk external injuries.
Katherine Ward, 20, a passenger in the car was transported by Air Evac to Texoma Medical Center in Denison and admitted stable condition with head and trunk external injuries.
Also a passenger in the car, a 2-year-old girl was transported by Air Evac to Dallas Children’s Medical Center in Dallas and admitted in stable condition with head injury.
The airbag deployed and seatbelts were equipped in the vehicle, but not in use by all, according to the report.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
The OHP was assisted in the investigation by the Choctaw County Sheriff’s Department, Choctaw Tribal Police Department and Soper Fire Department.
