DURANT – The comic con circuit is making a stop in Bryan County again.
Texoma Comic Con has returned to the Choctaw Event Center for a second year. The event brings in comic creators, voice actors and other talent to one place for two days on Saturday, Feb. 22, and Sunday, Feb. 23.
There are opportunities to meet and take pictures with voice actors from Dragon Ball Z, Borderlands, My Hero Academia and even Scooby Doo. Cosplayers are out in full force.
There are also many vendors on hand from food trucks to artists to many comic book stores.
Word of mouth advertisement from the success of the first year in Durant has helped in growth in attendance, as well as vendors.
Tobie Labauve, owner of Tobie’s Comics and Collectables of Houston, Texas, came up to the event in 2024 and received strong feed back from the vendors who were here so he decided to take part.
“I made a day trip on Sunday and probably spent too much money,’ Labauve said. “I asked all the vendors and they said they had a great time and were selling a lot and having a great Saturday. So I said, “OK. I’ll sign up for next year.’
“I just came up to sell some comics to the people of Durant and I’m having a great time and selling a lot. This is a great area.”
Tickets start at $20 to attend.
