Texas teen injured in early morning wreck near Hendrix

BRYAN COUNTY – A Pottsboro teenager was injured in a single-vehicle wreck south of Hendrix at about 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

The 17-year-old, whose name has been withheld, was driving a 2006 Pontiac north on County Road E3715 when he feel asleep and ran off the left side of the roadway, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. The vehicle then struck and tree and caught fire.

The teen was transported by the Bryan County EMS to Texoma Medical Center in Denison and admitted in stable condition with head and trunk-internal injuries.

The seatbelt was in use and the cause of the accident was that the driver was sleepy, according to the report.

The OHP was assisted in the investigation by the Bryan County Sheriff’s Office and Kemp Fire Department.
