Texas man flown from site of DUI accident in north Bryan County

KENEFIC – One man was injured in a single-vehicle accident in north Bryan County on Tuesday night.

Jesus Huerta, 37, of Van Alstyne, Texas, was driving a 2015 GMC pickup northbound near Oklahoma Highway 48 and E. 1970 Road approximately one-half mile east of Kenefic at about 9:14 p.m. according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The vehicle departed the roadway to the right a struck a tree. Huerta was flown via medi-flight to Medical City in Plano, Texas, in critical condition with head injuries.

The cause of the accident was DUI, according to the OHP report. The airbag in the vehicle deployed, but seat belts were not in use.

The OHP was assisted in the investigation by the Caddo Fire Department, Choctaw Nation Tribal Police and Bryan County EMS.
