Storm men’s basketball adds four for 2019-2020 season

DURANT – Southeastern head men’s basketball coach Kelly Green has announced the additions of RJ Weeks, Conner Brister, Alec Grandstaff, and Vadim Clanet to the 2019-2020 roster.

Weeks, a 6-4 guard, comes to Southeastern as a true freshman from Kingston, Okla., and is coming off a state championship as well as being named the 2019 Oklahoma 3A Player of the Year.

He averaged 10 ppg while adding 3.3 rpg and 4.4 assists per outing at KHS in 2018-19 while additionally snagging 1.9 steals per game and 1 block per game.

Weeks is an OCA All-State selection and an OBCA All-Star while earning numerous all-tournament honors which included LCC Conference MVP honors. He is also a two-time Academic State Champion in basketball, while adding a LCC Conference Championship and an Academic State Championship in golf.

Brister, a 6-4 guard, also comes to the Savage Storm from Kingston, Okla., and was a 2019 state champion alongside Weeks.

He averaged 14 ppg as a senior at KHS and added four rebounds per outing as well as two assists and three steals.

Brister was a 2019 OBCA All-Star selection and earned multiple all-tournament honors.  He also added an All-State honor in baseball for the 2019 season.

Grandstaff, a 6-3 guard, comes to SE from Rockwall HS in Rockwall, Texas, where he earned a Top 100 Player Rating in the state of Texas.

He averaged 16 ppg as a senior lasts season and drained 130 three point buckets, hitting 47 percent from beyond the arc.

Grandstaff is the RHS career record holder for three point makes and is a two-time first team all-district honoree.  His three point total last season was good for second overall in 6A basketball in the state while his 47 percent average ranked tops among 6A players.

Clanet, a 6-8 forward, is a native of Drumettaz, France, and joins the Storm after a standout career at DME Sports Academy in Daytona Beach, Fla.

He averaged 8.8 ppg as a senior and added 4.3 rpg, 2.2 assists per outing and he hit 64 threes on the season, shooting just under 40 percent from beyond the arc.

Clanet earned All-State honors in Florida in 2017 as well as the Team Offensive MVP award that season.

Southeastern will open its 2019-2020 season in earnest in the GAC/NSIC Challenge Nov. 8-9 in Bethany, Okla., but will see its first action on Oct. 29 in an exhibition contest against Oklahoma in Norman, Okla.
