Steven Earl Matlock, a resident of Caney, Okla., left this earthly life too soon, on November 5, 2021, at the age of 39. He was born in Sherman, Texas on December 7, 1981, to Johnnie Matlock and Patsy Workman Duncan.
Steven was a true outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, stock car racing, and four-wheeling.
Mr. Matlock is survived by his mom, Patsy Duncan and her husband Levi of Duncan, Okla.; dad, Johnnie Matlock and wife Freda Ladd of Caney, Okla.; grandma, Betty Furr of Atoka, Okla.; children, Ryan Matlock of Boswell, Okla., Kylie Matlock of Caney, Okla., and Myah Matlock of Caney, Okla.; daughter-in-law, Emily Stevens of Boswell, Okla.; son-in-law, Case Daniels of Caney, Okla.; nieces and nephews, Paige Matlock of Caddo, Okla., Tyler Matlock of Caddo, Okla., Sidney Riley of Durant, Okla., Ricquelle Riley of Durant, Okla., London Johnson of Mead, Okla., Jaden Neice of Madill, Okla., Colbie Duncan of Madill, Okla., Brylynn Doyle of Mead, Okla., Garrett Helms of Mead, Okla., Wesley Helms of Mead, Okla., Cameron Carpenter of Caney, Okla., Tristan Ladd of Caney, Okla., Trigger Ladd of Caney, Okla., Taylynn Ladd of Caddo, Okla., Kenton Ladd of Caney, Okla., Zayne Ladd of Caney, Okla., Kaigan Ladd of Caney, Okla., Chawn Duncan of Atoka, Okla., and Riley Luck of Atoka, Okla.; sisters, Kristie Riley of Mead, Okla., Natalie Doyle of Mead, Okla., Stacey Hart of Madill, Okla., Kamryn Duncan of Mead, Okla., Jona Matlock Mead, Okla., and Shelly Rector of Atoka, Okla.; step-brother, Derrick Ladd and wife Summer of Caney, Okla.; great-niece, Amari Riley of Durant, Okla.; great-nephews, Coast Adanno of Durant, Okla., Jaxon Luck of Atoka, Okla. and Rayce Luck of Atoka, Okla. and two grandchildren, Renley Rayn Matlock and Cash Dawson Daniels.
Mr. Matlock was preceded in death by first wife, Amy Michelle Holt and second wife, Stacey Leigh Darby.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021, at the Mead Cemetery Pavilion in Mead, Okla. with Bro. Kerry Groce officiating. His pallbearers will be Ryan Matlock, Tyler Matlock, Amos Workman, Jerry Tucker, Case Daniels, and KD Ladd, the honorary pallbearers are Ryan Matlock, Tyler Matlock, and Amos Workman.
Services are under the direction of Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Okla.
