OKLAHOMA CITY – The State Chamber of Oklahoma applauds Attorney General Gentler Drummond for joining the legal battle against State Question 832, challenging the constitutionality of the job-threatening minimum wage mandate.
On Thursday, the Office of the Attorney General filed a brief with the State Supreme Count questioning SQ 832 and its unconstitutional delegation of the state legislative power.
“State Question 832 is a job killer that would shutter main-street businesses and deny economic opportunity for the lowest earners through reduced hours and benefits,” said Chad Warmington, president and CEP of The State Chamber.
“SQ 832 is a carbon copy of San Francisco’s disastrous labor policies that will cede Oklahoman’s decisions to the unelected U.S. Department of Labor. It is unconstitutional and we are thrilled to see Attorney General Drummond join the business community in this fight,” Warmington concluded.
The State Chamber, Oklahoma Farm Bureau and a growing coalition of Oklahoma job creators filed a legal challenge to SQ 832 on constitutional grounds on Nov. 20, 2023.
