Southeastern softball takes series finale at Ouachita Baptist

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Southeastern closed out a series victory on Sunday afternoon by picking up a 5-2 win over Ouachita Baptist in the rubber-match in Arkadelphia, Ark.

The teams split on Saturday, and Sunday’s win lifts the Savage Storm to 18-14 overall on the season and 10-7 in Great American Conference play.

Sabetha Sands and Kamryn Rackley each collected two hits to lead the SE offense.

Harlow, Ore, Olivares, Sands, and Beard each recorded an RBI.

Emily Simmons got the start and picked up the win after tossing a complete game and allowing two runs on five hits with eight strikeouts over seven innings.

The Tigers would jump out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first on a two-run single.

Beard would drive in a run in the second on an RBI fielder’s choice to cut the deficit in half, and an inning later Harlow would lead off the third with a solo homer to tie the game 2-2.

Ore would give the Storm its first lead with an Rbi single in the top pf the fourth.

Southeastern would tack on a pair of insurance runs in the sixth inning on back-to-back RBI singles from Olivares and Sands, taking a 5-2 lead which would hold up as the final.
