WEATHERFORD, Okla. – After taking the series opener, Southeastern won game two of the series to clinch the series win over Southwestern Oklahoma State before the Bulldogs took game three 4-3.

Sports presented by Indian Nation Wholesale.

Sage Harlow led the bats across the two games, recording five hits and scoring a pair of runs, and the Savage Storm ended the day with 24 hits in the doubleheader. Sheyenne Cheek got the win in game one for her first win this season, pitching the final 3.0 frames with two hits allowed and zero runs. Trinity Oden had ten strikeouts in game two while giving up three runs on eight hits.

Southeastern (21-21, 12-11 GAC) heads home for a three-game series against Arkansas-Monticello on April 11 and 12. SE opens the series with a double on Friday, starting at 1 p.m.

GAME ONE: SE 6, SWOSU 3
For the second game in a row, SE opened the scoring in the top of the first to grab a 2-0 advantage. Hits by Harlow and India McMurray had runners on first and second with two outs, and a single to center field from Kasey Simmons brought in the first run. Two batters later, Lorryn Johnson scored the next run with an RBI single, but the Bulldogs pulled a run back in the bottom half after a pair of walks to make it 2-1.

Both sides went scoreless in the second, but the scoring picked up in the third, as the blue and gold added a run through McMurray, who stole home to extend the gap to 3-1. However, like the first frame, SWOSU matched the Storm’s scoring in the bottom of the third, plating a pair of runs to tie the game 3-3.

The bats cooled off in the fourth and fifth for the Storm and Bulldogs, but Southeastern went back to work in the sixth, as four hits paved the way for three runs. SE had runners on the corners with one out, and a single through the right side by Iliana Olivares gave SE the lead again, 4-3. Edwards brought in the next two runs with her third hit of the game to push the lead to 6-3.

GAME TWO: SWOSU 4, SE 3
The second game of Monday’s doubleheader was a pitcher duel as Trinity Oden and SWOSU’s Alexis Taylor pitched three scoreless innings to get the game started. Oden had six strikeouts through the first three innings, and allowed three hits and stranded a pair of runners in the bottom of the second. However, Taylor was just as good, as she left the bases loaded in the top of the third and gave up just one hit across the second and third.

The Bulldogs eventually found the game’s first run in the fourth, as a wild pitch and throwing error allowed SWOSU to scratch in a score and take a 1-0 lead. SWOSU added to its lead in the following frame, scoring two more runs to extend its lead to 3-0.

Southeastern went to work in the top of the sixth and got its first two batters on with hits from Olivares and Emily Simmons to put runners on first and third with no outs. SE scratched a run on a sacrifice fly and added another run from a double by Johnson to cut the gap to 3-2. The Storm continued to battle, loading the bases in the seventh and single up the middle from E. Simmons tied the game 3-all, but the Bulldogs countered in the bottom half with an RBI double to win 4-3.
