The Patriot continues with the weekly feature, #ShopCalera, highlighting businesses around the Calera area. With construction starting soon that will disrupt the normal flow of traffic through the area and have other challenging effects on the town, it is important to keep our local businesses and organizations at the forefront of our minds and support our towns and county during this time and beyond.
Today’s featured business: Seoul Koream Kitchen. Grace Chestnut, whose family opened the restaurant in the fall of 2017, told the Patriot then it was finally the right time.
“My mom’s been wanting a restaurant since forever, since she moved to the United States, but there were never the right conditions for it to happen or for it to transpire,” Chestnut said. “But somehow, someway as a family, we all pulled together and this is how Seoul started.”
The business has six employees and is located at 102 W. Haynie.
“Every meal we serve is made to order,” Chestnut said. “We make it for each person who comes in.
“Come out and give us a try.”
Seoul Korean Kitchen is open Tuesday through Thursday (11 a.m.-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m.), Friday (11 a.m.-3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m.) and Saturday (11 a.m.-8 p.m.). It is closed Sunday and Monday.
