Shirley Luton

Shirley Leoma (Richardson) Luton passed away peacefully in McKinney, Texas on May 20, 2021 at the age of 72. She was born on December 2, 1948 in Durant, Okla. to L.R. “Shorty” and Vera Mae (Smithey) Richardson.

Shirley was Missionette Leader at the Assembly of God Desoto, and a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was also employed by H&R Block as a tax preparer. Shirley loved her family and was always cooking and making sure that they were well taken care of. She will be missed by all that had the privilege of knowing her.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her three sons: Steven Luton and wife Julie of Bonham, Texas, Terry Luton and wife Sheri of Princeton, Texas, and Jeff Luton and wife Linda of Valleyview, Texas; grandsons: Christopher Luton, Blake Luton, Noah Luton, Colton Luton, Sean Luton, Dallas Luton and Hunter Luton; granddaughters: L’kada Luton, Cheyanne Watkins and husband Kent, and Montana Morris. She is also survived by her nine great grandchildren and four siblings – brothers, Charles Richardson of Houston, Texas, Kenny Richardson and wife Cindy of Bangs, Texas, and sisters, Diane Shults and husband Ronnie of Bokchito, Okla and June Brown and husband Melvin of Park City, Kan.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Shorty and Vera Richardson; husband, Clifford Luton; sister Thelma Langston and brother, Leon Richardson.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, May 23, 2021 in the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home Chapel in Durant, Okla., with Reverend Kendall Hutchins officiating, with in the Restland Cemetery in Silo, Oklahoma.
