Shirley Marie James, of Durant, Okla., passed from this life on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021 at the age of 79. She was born on Thursday, May 15, 1941 in Hurdland, Mo. to Pearlie and Nina (Stice) Shaver.
She was a longtime resident of Durant, Okla. Her hobbies included crocheting and sewing. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearlie and Nina (Stice) Shaver; daughter, Janet Gibbs and father of her children, Richard James.
Survivors include daughter, Brenda James of Caddo, Okla.; sons, Michael James and wife Lisa of Gulfport, Miss. and David James of Durant, Okla.; grandchildre:n Chris Gibbs, Brandon Williams and wife Brittney, Ashley Keeler and husband Sean, Phillip Williams and girlfriend Therese Miller, Rhiannon James, Ashlynn Stroud, Aaron James, Cody James and wife Brittany; great-grandchildren: Addisyn, Braydon, Kynlee, Kyle, Holley; sister, Mae Applegate and numerous nieces and nephews.
A family hour will be held from 6-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021 at Gordon Funeral Home in Durant, Okla.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2021 at Gordon Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma with Bro. Jesse West officiating. Brandon Williams, Phillip Williams, Sean Keeler, Aaron James, Cody James and Rhiannon James will serve as pallbearers.
