Shirley M. Bumpass, of Hendrix, Okla., passed from this life on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at the age of 70. She was born on Tuesday, July 19, 1949 in Denison, Texas to Leslie Franklin and Ruby Jewell (Jones) Clark.
Shirley came to Hendrix, Okla. from Daingerfield, Texas 18 years ago. She was a Navy spouse and moved many times with her husband over the years during his time in the military. She enjoyed shopping but mostly her life revolved around her family whom she loved very much.
She married Dempsey Bumpass on February 26, 1968 in Denison, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie Franklin and Ruby Jewell (Jones) Clark; sons, Brian Bumpass, Chris Bumpass and brothers, Tom Clark and George H. Clark.
Survivors include her husband, Dempsey Bumpass; daughter, Amanda Mashaw of Hendrix, Okla.; granddaughter, Makayla Mashaw of Hendrix, Okla.; grandson, Nick Bumpass of Mississippi; great-grandson Parker Bumpass of Blue, Okla.; sisters, Joyce Watson of Howe, Texas, Bobbie Gordon of Cartwright, Okla.; brothers, Mark Clark of Denison, Texas, John Clark of Melissa, Texas as well as numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family.
A family visitation will be held at the Monterey Chapel on Thursday, June 11, 2020 from 5-7 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2020 at the Monterey Chapel, 224 S. Ninth Ave. in Durant with Bro. Rodney Sprayberry officiating.
