Shirley Blankenship

Shirley Merline Blankinship was born on Dec. 14, 1939 in Bentley, Okla. to Lewis Raymond and  Clara Belle (Williams) Setttlemire.

Shirley had been a resident of the Boswell area for more than 20 years. She enjoyed attending OIMC White Sand Methodist Church and had been employed as a census worker. Shirley enjoyed sewing, crocheting and crafting. She also loved target practicing, playing games but especially enjoyed playing bingo. Shirley will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Homer Travis Blankinship; daughter, Shirley Ann Blankenship; son, Travis Blankinship; brothers, Cortez Jennings, Donald Riddell, Leon Jennings and Roy Jennings; sisters, Mary Jo Turner and Ethel Jean Davis.

Shirley is survived by her sons, Larry Blankinship of Sacramento, Calif. and Bradley Moyer; daughters, Kathy Blankinship of Durant, Okla., Denise Cheatham of Turlock, Calif., Anita Smith and husband Danny of Boswell, Okla. and Jan Stanley and husband Tom of Mustang, Okla.; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters, Mary Joyce Mayo of Calera, Okla. and Roberta Mayo and husband Wayne of Whitesboro, Texas; step brothers, Rickey Jennings of Caney, Okla., Lonnie Jennings and wife Rachel of Clarita, Okla.; step sister, Charlotte Boley of Caney, Okla., along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family, friends and loved ones.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements under the care of Miller and Miller Funeral Home.
