Sharlene Van West of Durant, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at the age of 83. She was born on Saturday, February 20, 1943 in Bell, California to Doris Eileen (Swift) and Donald Lucerne McCoy.
Sharlene is originally from Los Angeles, California and came to Durant, Oklahoma to follow her family. On December 3, 1988, she married Ricardo Van West at the White Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Doris Eileen (Swift) and Donald Lucerne McCoy; brother, Russ McCoy; and son, PJ Donelan.
Survivors include her loving husband, Ricardo Van West; sons Mike Donelan, Russel Donelan, Kevin Donelan Sr.; daughter by heart, Donna; brother, Don McCoy Jr.; sisters, Janice, Louis; more than 20 grandchildren and over 54 great-grandchildren, as well as other extended family and friends.
The family will be hosting a memorial service that will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at their residence, located at 611 N. Ninth Ave. in Durant.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Gordon Funeral Home, 221 N. Third Ave. in Durant.
