Shane Barton

Shane Barton passed from this life on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 in Calera. He was born Wednesday, August 12, 1970 in Denison, Texas to Buddy Barton and Olivia (Sims) Barton. He was raised in Calera and was a graduate of Calera High School in 1988. Shane worked at Sundowner Trailers for 10 years where he was a painter of stock trailers. He was also an auto body painter.

Shane loved spending time with his sons, fishing, and riding dirt bikes. When Shane and his brother Bryan were young boys, they collected Hot Wheels and always enjoyed playing together. Shane attended Platter Baptist Church and recently Grace Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, E.C. and Earline Barton; and maternal grandparents, Hugh and Hazel Hull.

Shane leaves behind his two loving sons, Aaron Shane Barton (Katherine) of Caddo, and Tanner Colt Barton (Candice) of Calera; a grandson, Jaxen Shane Barton; mother, Olivia Barton and fiancé Tommy Bishop of Durant; father, Buddy Barton and his wife Kathy of Sulphur; one brother, Bryan Barton of Calera and special friend Kari Wingfield of Caddo; one niece and three nephews, Racey BryAnn Barton, Braxton Cody Barton, Rylee Wade Barton, and Landon Carter Barton; great nephew, Grayson Wayne Webster; and cousins Gregory Plyler, Lisa Plyler, Ray Hull, Rena Hull, Tina Tickner, and Jimmy Hull; and numerous family members and friends.

Funeral services for Shane Barton, 53, will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Brown’s Funeral Service chapel in Durant with Bro. Anthony Williams officiating. Committal services will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery pavilion with Billy Wells, Ricky Simmons, Charlie Maxey, Todd Maxey, Harley Roberson, and Allen Hicks serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Tip Brooks and Garrett Hamilton.
