Ruth Helen Ingram

Ruby Helen (Tucker) Ingram was born on March 10, 1942, in Durant, Oklahoma to the late Dudley Sims and Ruby Fay (Weibling) Tucker. Ruby passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026, in Durant at the age of 83.

Ruby graduated from Durant High School and married Billy Joe Ingram on June 6, 1959. They moved to Electra, Texas, where they resided for 31 years and owned and operated the Teen Center and she was known as the mother to all the kids in Electra. They then moved to Ada, Oklahoma, for six years and returned home to Durant where they resided until their deaths. Billy Joe and Ruby were united in marriage for 50 years until Billy Joe’s passing in 2009. Ruby was a Scout Leader and Den Mother for 21 years and her proudest moment in life was the birth of her two sons, William and Kenneth. She was a loving housewife, a great mom, and Meme.

Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Ingram; parents, Dudley and Ruby Fay Tucker; brother, OL Tucker; and sisters, Jewel Rowland, Ruth Ann Russell, Mozella Amos, and Martha Fay Brister.

Ruby is survived by her sons: Willam Ingram and wife Rhonda of Amarillo, Texas and Kenneth Ingram and wife Jean Ann of Durant, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Steven Ingram and Patricia Gibson, Chanice Ingram, and Hayley Ingram; great-grandchildren: Madyson Ingram and Bryson Ingram and numerous extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday March 11, 2026, at Brown’s Durant Funeral Service Chapel. Pastor Aaron McAdams will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery with David Goggins, Calvin Rowland, Jason Lowery, Jeff Rowland, Geoffry Russell, Jon Wolfe, Josh Miller, and Craig Smith serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ruby’s nephews Dudley Rowland, Johnny Rowland, Tommy Rowland, Johnny Tucker, OL Tucker, Dewayne Russell, Lloyd Russell, and Darrell Brister.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
