Ruby Allene (Mace) Rice passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024, at home surrounded by her family. She was born on April 2, 1927, in Denison, Texas to William Lee and Eufaula Francis (Donahue) Mace.
Ruby worked all her life as a seamstress, but her true passion in life was caring for her family. Some of her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, and going to yard sales and goodwill. She always enjoyed walking as much as she could and when the grandkids would spend the night with her, she would keep them busy playing Skip-Bo or dominoes. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Ruby is survived by her son, Bill Rice and wife Debbi of Cartwright, Okla.; her son, Mark Rice of the home in Colbert, Okla.; her daughter, Holly Barrera and husband Raul of Denison, Texas; her daughter, Patty Jones of Dodd City, Texas, and her granddaughter that she raised as her own, Jennifer Pointer and her fiancé James Stanfield of Durant, Okla.; 17 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, many great-great-grandchildren, and her sister, Marie Paschall of Cartersville, Ga.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, William and Eufaula Mace; two sisters, Dorothy Stapp “Doodle” and Minnette “Minnie” Puttman; her son, Eddie Rice; her son, Johnny Ray Rice; her daughter, Darlene Souther; her son, Don Rice, and her great-grandson Bradon Garcia.
A family hour will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma.
Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 27, 2024, at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Don Ford officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the Garden of Memory cemetery in Colbert, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers will be Raul Barrera, Randal Barrera, John Garcia, Joe Garcia, Jeff Souther, Hayden Hargis, Hudson Hargis, and James Stanfield.
Services are under the direction of Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Okla.
