Ruben James, of Coleman, Okla., passed from this life on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at the age of 82. He was born on Friday, July 21, 1939 in Fillmore, Okla., to Amos and Mary (John) James. 
He was a longtime resident of Fillmore. He married Rose Marie (Golden) James on March 18, 1983 in Durant, Okla.
He enjoyed reading the Bible, walking, mowing his yard, tinkering with vehicles and spending time outside with his many grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Mary (John) James; his wife, Rose Marie (Golden) James and siblings Dorothy Green, Edna Mae Baken, Sue Pidgue, Frank (Snake) James and Jesse James.
Survivors include his sons, Jeffrey Tipton and wife Misty of Coleman, Okla., Tracy James of Coleman, Okla.; siblings, Ronnie James and wife Hazel of Morrison, Okla.; his twin sister Ruby Harner of Fillmore, Okla.; grandchildren, Tyler Tipton, Mackenzie Tipton, Ethan Tipton, Brianna James, Bristol James, Toben James, Jordan Golden, Jessica Bruce, Bianca Golden, Stormey Golden and seven great-grandchildren.
A family visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 7, 2022 at Gordon Funeral Home in Durant, Okla. 
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022 at Center Hill Church in Kenefic, Okla. A graveside service will follow at the Center Hill Cemetery.
