Royce “Aunt Kinks” Butcher, of Durant, Okla. passed from this life on Monday, Oct. 11, 2021 at the age of 95. She was born on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1926 in Caddo, Okla. to Ruel Raymond and Clara Pluma (Smith) Choate.
She was a longtime resident of Durant, Okla. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Durant. After retirement she dedicated her life to reading and studying her Bible, spending time and taking care of family and friends. “I Love Everybody” were some of her last words on this earth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruel Raymond and Clara Pluma (Smith) Choate; husband, Harry Dean Butcher; brothers, Donald Kenneth Choate, Jerry Raymond Choate; sisters, Lois Boatwright and Mary Choate
Survivors include her daughter, Kellie Barker and husband Doug of Durant, Okla.; numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family.
A family hour will be from 6-7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 15, 2021 at Gordon Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Durant, Okla. with Bro. Garry McNeill officiating. A graveside committal service will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Durant, Okla..
Ruel Choate, Arthur Choate, Larry Choate, Matt Huston, Jake Perry and Parker Moore will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Cole Condren and Josh Daniel.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Gordon Funeral Home, 221 N. Third Ave. in Durant, Okla.
