Roy Ellis

Roy Joe Ellis passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 24, 2020 at the age of 90.

Roy was a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and neighbor. He was a veteran of the Korean War, he served honorably as a Private in the United States Marine Corps. Roy was a compassionate, proud, determined, loyal, strong, hard working man of integrity who loved his family.

He shared “his” life stories and life lessons. He had a creative soul and enjoyed designing and patenting tools used in his longtime profession. He would tell you that he had all he wanted and when asked if there was anything he needed, he would always answer, “a little time and kind words.” His family would ask you to extend this kind gesture to those around you.

Mr. Ellis is survived by his daughters, Vickie and Sherrie; his grandchildren, Jason (Ashley), Emily (Michael), Audra (Evan), Jacob (Summer), Jamie, Josh, and Zach; and his great-grandchildren, Kayla, Cami, Malachi, Elijah, Judah, Olivia, Webb, Ellis, Forrest, and Teddy Roy, he is also survived by his stepdaughter-in-law, Christine.

Mr. Ellis was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Cecil; his sisters, Estelle, Ruth, Zelma and Dorothy; his brothers, Otis, Owen, and Olan; his daughter, Gay Lynn; his wife, Wanda; and his stepson, Wade.

His family would especially like to thank Dr. Kevin Gordon and the team at Elara Home Health for their excellent care, support, attention, and kindness for Roy. Likewise, the family is grateful for the help and support of Roy’s wonderful neighbors and friends.

The family will be celebrating Roy’s life at the internment on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021 at 2 p.m. at the Rosewood Cemetery in Achille, Oklahoma. There will not be visitation.
