RoseMarie Staton

Rosemarie “Schatzi” Staton passed from this life on Saturday, December 31, 2022, in Durant, Okla., at the age of 72. She was born on November 1, 1950, in Lawton, Okla., to Joseph E. and Erika (Hoffman) Larimer. She married the love of her life, Jim Staton, on November 15, 1968, in Las Cruces, N.M.

Schatzi’s greatest accomplishment in life was her family, she loved her kids and grandkids with everything she had. She was a great caregiver to everything, humans, and animals alike. She had a gift for making everyone feel special and loved to make everyone happy. She was the best hugger, and everyone loved her “Grandma hugs.” When anyone went to visit, she would follow them outside where she stood and waved until they were out of sight. No matter the weather, she was outside barefoot, rain snow or shine. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. To be loved by her was such a privilege.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 54 years, Jim Staton of the home; daughter, Kelly Coxsey and husband Wesley of Mead, Okla.; daughter, Crystal Collett of Calera, Okla.; son Kit Staton and wife Shannon of Yuba, Okla.; son, Kevin Staton and wife Crystal of Yuba, Okla.; grandkids include Courtney Davis, Joe Tucker, Taylor Tucker, Brooke Tucker, Skylar Tucker, Cody Collett, Miranda Collett, Jesse Collett, Alexis Barcheers, Chesley Staton, Zackery Staton, Sarah McBeth, Trenton Trude, Jocelyn Staton, Jasey Velotti, Dylan Wilkerson and 19 great-grandchildren; sisters Elizabeth “Sissy” Larimer, Carlotta Armitage Medina and husband Chico, and Monika Wyler and husband Paul, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other loved ones.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Joseph and Erika Larimer and one brother, Joe Larimer.

Family hour will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, from 5-7 p.m. at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Okla.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at the Yuba Baptist Church in Yuba, Oklahoma, with Reverend Michael Moody officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Zackery Staton, Jesse Collett, Cody Collett, Trenton Trude, Dylan Wilkerson, and Joe Tucker. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Staton, Kit Staton, Travis Barcheers, Zachery Sanders, Conner Velotti, Drew McBeth, Colby Pesch, Zach Seeton, and Bryan Davis.
