Robert Anderson Gibson, 84, of Madill, Oklahoma passed from this life on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 in Madill. Robert was born on Monday, May 11, 1942 at Powell, Oklahoma to Edward Cornelius Gibson and Willie Hortense (Carroll) Gibson.
Robert was raised and attended school in Powell. As a teenager, he worked on a farm. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and raising horses. Robert’s joy was working on vehicles, going for rides, and being outdoors soaking up the sun.
Robert was preceded in death his parents; a son, Ricky Edward Gibson; a sister, Ardena Rutherford; and a brother, Ronald Ralph Gibson.
He is survived by his son, Robert W. Gibson and his wife, Michelle Renae of Madill; a daughter, Michelle Jenkins of Whitewright, Texas; brothers, Charles Sonny Gibson of Dickson, Oklahoma and George Gibson of Caddo, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Devin Edward Gibson, Robin Danielle Gibson, Kristopher Freeman, Britny Nicole Pichan, Joshua Derek Jenkins, Shawna Marie Gibson, and Michael Brandon Gibson; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, at Brown’s Funeral Home chapel in Madill. Pastor Dave Boggs will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, July 31, at Brown’s Funeral Home in Madill.
