Richard Tonubbee, Sr.

Richard Tonubbee, Sr., a resident of Bennington, Okla., proud member of the Choctaw Nation Indian Tribe, and United States Air Force Veteran, entered his eternal rest in Denison, Texas, on July 29, 2021, at the age of 75. Richard was born on July 3, 1946, in Hugo, Okla., to Samuel Tonubbee and Francis Irene (Beaver) Tonubbee. He married his beloved Patsy (Pat) Thompson in Durant, Okla., on May 22, 1970.

Richard was the owner and operator of S & H Electrical and Tonubbee Electric on Main Street. He also worked at Potter’s Sausage for 15 years. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. Richard earned his bachelor’s degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He enjoyed a day of fishing and being in the woods hunting.

Mr. Tonubbee is survived by his cherished family: wife, Pat Tonubbee of the home; children, Robbee Tonubbee of Bennington, Okla., Ricky Tonubbee and wife Amanda of Bennington, Okla., and Tubby Smith of Durant, Okla.; sister, Judy Parks of Durant, Okla.; grandchildren: Zachary Tonubbee and wife Mattie of Durant, Okla., Cody Tonubbee and wife Micha of Bokchito, Okla., Amanda Smith of Cookeville, Tenn., Tucker Tonubbee of Bennington, Okla., and Toby Tonubbee of Bennington, Okla.; great-grandchildren: Miles Tonubbee of Durant, Okla. and Bentlee Tonubbee of Bokchito, Okla.; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Tonubbee was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Sammy Phillips.
