Richard William Steele 76, of Colbert, Okla., passed away Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020 at his home with his family at his side. He was born Feb. 20, 1944 in Denison, Texas to Richard D. and Rosie F. Steele.
He was a great father, grandfather and uncle and worked hard for all he had. He made a lot of people smile and feel loved. Richard (Willie) was loved by most everyone that knew him. He was well known for his work as a security officer at Grandpappy Point and Highport Marinas.
He was preceded in death by son, Billy Jack Steele; three brothers: Willie Joe Steele, John H. Steele and Anndee Steele.
He is survived by his wife Veila Ann Steele of the home in Colbert, Okla.; sons: John H. Mueller, Bill Haggard and Richard L. Steele; stepson, Rob Ricketson of Washington; brothers: Arnold Steele, James R. Steele and David C. Steele, all of Cartwright, Okla.; sisters: Carol A. Peebles of Achille, Okla. and Marie Mason of Cartwright, Okla.; grandkids: Tristan, Dallen, Kindell and April; nephews: Dusty Peebles and David L. Peebles; nieces Donna C. House and Ruth M. Peebles and many other nieces and nephews, cousins and family Mary Sue Campbell and Hank Jones Mason.
A funeral for Richard William Steele was held on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2020 at Cunningham Funeral Home with Pastor Troy Phillips officiating.
