Richard Eugene Medler, a resident of Colbert, Okla., left this life on February 6, 2022 peacefully at home, at the age of 86. He was born in Savanna, Okla. on October 7, 1935.
Richard was a hardworking man who made his living working at E-Systems in Garland, Texas. He graduated high school from Colbert, Okla. After 40-plus years, he retried and returned to Colbert. He was a simple man. He didn’t require a lot. His greatest love besides gardening was his family that brought him so much joy. He loved basketball and didn’t miss a game his granddaughters played in all throughout high school. He would find a ride somewhere and somehow.
Mr. Medler is survived by his son, Donnye Medler and wife, Evon of Colbert, Okla.; granddaughters, Shawna Medler and Tara Medler of Colbert, Okla. and Atoria Adams and husband Christopher of Durant, Okla.; as well as his great-grandchildren Addilyn, Bentley, Keegan, and Heidi. He is also survived by one brother, Charles Medler of Bokchito, Okla.
Mr. Medler was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Arnold Medler; son, Ricky Medler and granddaughter, Tamerla Medler.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022 at the Colbert Cemetery.
