Rhelda Jean (Vaughan ) Coonrod, 77, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on April 18, 2023. Rhelda was born in Denton, Texas, to JD and Estelle Vaughan on February 14, 1946, Valentine’s Day.
She was a Christian woman who loved her family and God’s Word. She graduated from Lewisville High School. On September 5, 1963, she married the love of her life Jackie Coonrod. She worked with her husband as his secretary in the industrial turbine business. They attended Hendricks Baptist Church and Victory Life Church until her health did not allow her to attend in person, yet she stayed faithful and attended church online. Rhelda enjoyed making macramé and Native American beadwork, she especially loved reading the Bible.
She is preceded in death by her parents, JD Vaughan and Estelle (Sullivan) Vaughan and granddaughter, Amy Coonrod.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Jackie Coonrod of the home; sons, David Coonrod of Calera, Okla., and Donald Coonrod of Kemp, Okla.; three grandchildren: Jessica, Taylor, and Levi; her twin brother, Rex Vaughan and wife Rachel of Pagosa Springs, Colo., and brother, Michael Vaughan of Ada, Okla.
Her burial is Friday, April 21, 2023.
