REI WBC to host Anti-Fraud Workshop

The REI Women’s Business Center invites the public to attend an Anti-Fraud Workshop on Wednesday, Nov. 14 from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at REI Oklahoma Conference Center, 2912 Enterprise Blvd in Durant.

Business presented by KTC.

The workshop is provided to share 10 ways to reduce the risk of being scammed.  Small businesses are often targets of fraud and the losses are generally higher.  The end result is closure of the business.  Scammers use new technology with old tricks to scam people out of money and personal information.  Workshop presenters, Alli Townsend, Fraud Supervisor with First United Bank, and Autumn Thurman, Certified Fraud Examiner with REI Oklahoma will discuss how to reduce your risk.  They will also discuss technology, employee, and wire fraud as well as current threats affecting business today.

The cost of the workshop is $15, and attendees are encouraged to register online at www.reiwbc.org.

This workshop is provided by Durant Area Chamber of Commerce, Durant Main Street, OSU Extension, Choctaw Nation, Imagine Durant, and REI Women’s Business Center, funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U. S. Small Business Administration.
