Ray “Tim” Gilbert Dunn, 84, of Kingston, Oklahoma passed away on July 25, 2026. Ray was born on November 26, 1941, in Milburn, Oklahoma to the late George William and Elizabeth Ann (Culberson) Dunn.
Ray attended school at Egypt, Milburn and graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University with his bachelor’s degree. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict until his Honorable Discharge.
He was a farmer and rancher before going to work at the Oklahoma State Auditor’s Office until his retirement and then began doing home construction. He married Virginia Ruth McGarr on November 23, 2020, in Madill after being together for 12 years and they were united in marriage for 6 years. Ray was a member of the Chickasaw Nation, VFW, and Chickasaw Warrior Society. He was of the Baptist faith, and he enjoyed reading, gardening, building, cooking and hunting and fishing.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents George and Elizabeth Dunn; brothers James and Buster Dunn; and uncle Jesse Dunn.
Ray is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Virginia Dunn of the home; nephew, Bret Converse and wife Alisha of Milburn, Okla.; sister-in-law, Louise Barr and family of LaMirada, Calif.; and numerous extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday July 31, 2026, at New Hope Baptist Church, located at 1209 U.S. Highway 70 in Kingston. Pastor Elmer Whitehead will officiate. Ray will be laid to rest at Woodville Cemetery with Military Honors immediately following the service.
