DURANT – Victory Life Church broke ground on Wednesday on new facilities for its Christian school as well as renovating and expanding its current church facilities. This endeavor, named “Project BIG,” will ultimately include a new auditorium that can seat over 1500 people, a larger common area that will be open for use during the week for church members and community members alike, newer and larger children’s and youth areas, as well as updated administrative offices. The new auditorium will be a venue capable of hosting large community gatherings like graduations and business conferences.

The first part of this construction project will include the relocation of Victory Life Academy. The Christian school will be moving out of the church facility into its own facility – allowing it to operate more securely and independently without the need to share space with the church. The separation of the Academy building from the church building will allow Victory Life to give access to their church facilities for community usage throughout the week where previously security requirements for the school left many shared spaces inaccessible. The new gym, fields, and other school spaces being built will also be available to organizations in the community that can benefit from them. These physical possibilities are of course built upon the foundation of what the new Victory Life Academy building will allow them to continue to do for our city: provide quality education and impart strong Christian character into the next generation of local civic and business leaders.

Victory Life has a 30-plus year history of being a church not just in our city, but FOR our city. Victory’s mission is to see people transformed by Jesus and has a heart to see our community thrive through its various outreaches like Hands of Hope, Serve Durant, staff and congregant community involvement, facility use for various organizations in our area, and the only fully accredited private school option in our region. But Victory Life Church believes there is a BIGGER impact to be made, and with the BIG community growth on the horizon, we need to prepare for the BIG work that God is doing.

Victory Life Church invites you to dream boldly with them during this project! They know this is a huge undertaking but they believe it’s God who is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all we can ask or imagine. There is great potential brewing in the City of Durant – in our businesses, in government and civilian leaders, and in the people of our community.
