DURANT – With just a little more than a month before the mid-term elections, President Donald Trump made a stop in Bryan County to tout successes and campaign for Republicans on the ballots in Oklahoma and Texas.

The Choctaw Event Center was the site of the President’s visit to Bryan County on Thursday. He spoke to a packed house which reached capacity, according the the fire marshal. Many people who had waited outside for an opportunity to see the President did not get that chance, as the doors were closed about 6:45 p.m.

The President arrived at the Choctaw Event Center following a trip exclusively by motorcade from his previous stop in Denton, Texas.

Among those who also spoke to the crowd were: Brandon Beach, current Treasurer of the United States; Cindy Byrd, current Oklahoma State Auditor and Republican nominee for State Treasurer; Mark Tedford, current Oklahoma State Representative and Republican nominee for U.S. Representative for Oklahoma Dist. 1; T.W. Shannon, former Speaker of the Oklahoma House, and Republican nominee for Oklahoma Lieutenant Governor; Josh Brecheen, current U.S. Representative for Oklahoma Dist. 2; Kevin Hern, current U.S. Representative for Oklahoma Dist. 1 and Republican nominee for u.S. Senate; Harold Hamm, Chairman Emeritus and Founder of Continental Resources; Mike Mazzei, Republican nominee for Oklahoma Governor; and Markwayne Mullin, current U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security.

President Trump’s stop in Durant makes him the third sitting President to visit the city, along with Presidents Barack Obama and Theodore Roosevelt.
