Phyllis Murray

A memorial is not a day in a lifetime…It’s a lifetime in a day

Phyllis Ann (Edwards) Murray, 71, was born on March 4, 1950 to Leonard and Ruby (Baude) Edwards. She was a longtime resident of Antlers, Okla., and left this earth peacefully in her sleep at her new home in Colbert, Okla. She was carried away by her angels on April 12, 2021.

Phyllis attended Crowder School. She worked diligently in many areas of public service in her younger years, and then at 43 decided to extend her education to become an RN. She loved nursing and taking care of others, especially the elderly.

She enjoyed arts and crafts, gardening, and being surrounded by family. Phyllis had a passion for canning, and those that knew her, knew they “better bring back those jars!”

She was very proud of her extensive collection of 131 nutcrackers that were prominently displayed each Christmas and increased in number each year.

Phyllis was raised to be a proud, classy woman with a warm heart, who encouraged others, especially women, to be independent, resilient, and strong. She was loved and respected by many and will be missed tremendously.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Charlie Baude; father, Leonard Edwards; mother, Ruby (Baude) Henry; brother, Bradley Edwards; nephew, Thomas Bradley Edwards along with his wife Alyce, and two of their daughters Bradlee and Zoey; her aunts, Wilma and Gale; her uncle, Clifford and her granddaughter, Shantel.
