Patrick Marcus Wright, 57, of Colbert, Okla. passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021 in Denison, Texas. Patrick was born on Dec. 4, 1963 to Robert Lee and Doretha Jean Hicks Wright in Colbert, Okla.
Patrick was an oil field worker and also was a truck driver. He was a graduate of Colbert High School and was a star basketball player. He was instrumental in helping his team win a State Championship at Oklahoma City. He received a scholarship and attended college, and later served his country in the United States Army.
Patrick was a very loving, big-hearted person, who was willing to help anyone. He enjoyed his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all his loved ones.
Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Doretha Anderson of Colbert, Okla.; sister, Cynthia Davis of Denison, Texas; brothers: Gerald Anderson and Gail of Fairfield, Calif., Carylos Anderson of Colbert, Okla., Bobby Anderson of Colbert, Okla., Norman Anderson and Chanee of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., Kevin Anderson and Audra of Sherman, Texas, Mike Jones of Houston, Texas; children: Jatoya Fachon Cheree Wright of Dallas, Texas, Patrick Danielle Wright of Durant, Okla., Jasmine Naomi Sharleff Wright of Dallas, Texas, Tre Nevin Wright of Edgewood, Texas, Zaden Kadir Wright of Edgewood, Texas, Lark Davidson of Durant, Okla.; six grandchildren; a very special family: Amanda Reed and her children: Franklyn, Sean, Amaryan, whom Patrick loved dearly, and other extended family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Wright.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Colbert High School Auditorium with Rev. Jimmy Bogan officiating. Interment will follow at Colbert East Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were his brothers; Gerald Anderson Carylos Anderson, Bobby Anderson, Norman Anderson, Kevin Anderson & Mike Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Love, Billy Joe Polite, Howard Patterson, Derrick Robinson & John Ward.
