Pat Thomas, a faithful follower of Christ Jesus, was called home July 4, 2024. Pat was a devoted animal lover and rescuer. He was a celebrated Big Brother in Lubbock, Texas. He loved to travel, camp at Big Bend, taking trips to Ruidoso and anywhere in Colorado among his favorites.
Pat’s career was at Texas Tech University where he followed school events long after retirement. Pat also took great pride in his wedding photography. By word of mouth, he built a thriving business. When Pat retired, he was able to move to the country and tend to his animal rescue. His rescue grew to include Colorado donkeys, retired horses, and every lost dog he came across. Pat’s reception at the Rainbow Bridge must have rivaled his reception into Heaven. I know that nothing surpassed his reception into Heaven.
Pat was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas and was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Reba Thomas, and a sister, Kay Lawrence.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; step-son, David King and wife Deborah; step-daughter Cathy King; sister, Deb Thomas; niece, Natalie Tindale; grandchildren, David King, Jesse King, Emily King, Ethan King, and Samuel King, and many friends and a large church family.
