Patricia Gayle Burrell of Mead, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025, at the age of 84. She was born on Saturday, September 6, 1941 in Fort Worth, Texas to Marie (Hamilton) and Ernest Fred Walker.

In the mid 1800’s, her family came to the beautiful Hill Country of Texas in covered wagons and helped settle the towns of Cherokee and Iredell. Her mother and father moved to Fort Worth, Texas and bought a home on Stanley Avenue when they married.

Pat grew up as a single child in a small frame house filled with the love of her mom and dad. She graduated from Paschal High School in Fort Worth, Texas in 1959. After graduating high school, she met Johnny Buster Burrell and they married on June 8, 1962 at Magnolia Christian Church.

She followed her husband and moved to Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and Maryland while Johnny played professional football. She had her first daughter in 1964 and spent her time raising her child. In 1970, her second daughter Alisa Paige Burrell was born. Following Johnnys football career, they moved to Edmond, Oklahoma to raise their girls. She was a very devoted wife and mother. She also worked in bookkeeping and human resource management for several long-term care facilities.

Over the years, they loved watching their daughters and grandchildren play sports and attend their dance activities. Her later years she became the most beloved babysitter for her 4 grandchildren. Upon retirement, they moved to Mead, Oklahoma and became involved in the local community of Durant Oklahoma.

Pat was an exceptional lady. Supportive, loving, always deeply involved in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives. She loved striper fishing and held a Lake Texoma record for several years in the 70’s. She and her husband loved the lake. She had commitment to her family that was always self-sacrificing. She was involved in many ministries, meals to pastors, our military coming home and leaving for service and the bereavement ministry. Pat and Johnny loved their friends from Texas to Oklahoma and shared their love of Jesus with all that knew them.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Johnny Buster Burrell and her parents Marie (Hamilton) and Ernest Fred Walker.

Survivors include her daughters Michele Spencer and husband Steve of Edmond, Oklahoma, Alisa Woods and husband Jim of Richardson, Texas; grandchildren Noah Spencer and wife Erin, Cory Spencer, Ford Woods, Payton Woods as well as other extended family and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at Victory Life Church, 3412 University Blvd. Durant, Oklahoma.

Following the celebration of life service, friends and family are welcome to attend a lunch gathering at 376 Park Lake Dr. Mead, Oklahoma.
