BRYAN COUNTY – One man was flown by Air Evac to Plano on Sunday following a one-vehicle accident at about noon in south Bryan County.
Justin Jarrell, 33 of Blue Ridge, Texas, was driving a 1997 Dodge pickup northbound on State Highway 78 when the vehicle departed the roadway to the right, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. He then overcorrected to the left, went across and left the highway, struck a culvert and went airborne for approximately 50 feet. The vehicle rolled one half time.
The accident happened 2 miles east and 3 miles south of Calera.
Jarrell was pinned for approximately 30 minutes and was extracted by the Calera Fire Department. He was flown to Plano Medical Center and was admitted in stable condition with injuries to trunk and legs.
He was wearing his seatbelt, according to the report. The accident is still under investigation.
The OHP was assisted by the Calera Fire Department, Calera Police Department, Calera EMS and Choctaw Tribal Police.
