Ollieta Jean Smith quietly entered the gates of Heaven on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2019 with her loving family by her side. Jean was born on January 10, 1937 in Bokchito, Okla. to Ora Lee Johnson and Markham Champion “MC” Easter.
She graduated from Bokchito High School in 1955 and soon met Billy Wayne Smith while on leave from the Navy. They were married on June 16, 1956 in Bokchito. In April 1957, their triplet daughters Terrie, Sherrie and Jerrie were born.
After enjoying the life of a coach’s wife, the family moved back to Bokchito in 1974 to help with the family business. While living in Bokchito she was a very active member of her community. Nana was the proud grandmother who was always ready for a softball, basketball game or wrestling match. She and the girls were well known for their girl trips from a short trip to a cross-country adventure. Jean was an active member of the Bokchito First Baptist Church. She was also active with the Bokchito Alumni and Bokchito Cemetery Association.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy Wayne Smith,; parents; mother-in-law, Emma Neeley; brothers, Bob Easter and Jerry Easter; sister, Mitzie Harp, and sister-in-law, Alva Dean Sweeney.
She is survived by her cherished daughters, Terrie Keck and husband Bill, Sherrie Stout and husband Hal, and Jerrie Goforth. She was extremely proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Derek Goforth and wife Jordan and sons Jonah and Noah; Ryan Keck and wife Cheyenne; Tanner Keck and Kassidy Goforth. She is also survived by an extended group of loving family and friends.
A special thanks for mom’s loving care goes out to the Four Seasons Nursing Home, Texoma Medical Center, Dr. Monica Woodall and Victory Life Hospice.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Dec. 26 from 6-7 p.m. at Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Okla. Funeral services will be on Friday, Dec. 27, 2019 at 10 a.m. in the Bokchito First Baptist Church in Bokchito, Okla. with Bro. Preston Burns officiating. Burial will take place at the Bokchito Cemetery. The pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews, Jim Easter, Darrell Patton and Johnny Wayne Sweeney.
Services are under the direction of Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Okla.
